Anchor-Loc Ceramic Fiber Modules
The Anchor-Loc® module system is a family of ceramic fiber modules designed to meet a wide range of application requirements in a variety of heat processing vessels. Anchor-Loc Modules, Anchor-Loc 2 Modules, Anchor-Loc 3 Modules and Fiberwall® Bonded Modules are available in a variety of temperature grades, densities, and attachment systems to best suit each specific customer requirement.
Anchor-Loc® Ceramic Fiber Modules – The Anchor-Loc® module system is a family of ceramic fiber modules designed to meet a wide range of application requirements in a variety of heat processing vessels. Ceramic fiber modules used in the Anchor-Loc systems are constructed with Durablanket® S, Durablanket HP-S, Durablanket 2600, or Fibermax® mat. Each type of Anchor-Loc ceramic fiber modules can be easily fastened to interior steel shells of all types of heat processing equipment with several different attachment systems. The ceramic fiber blanket or mat is secured by two alloy through-rods to a metallic module anchor
Anchor-Loc® 2 Ceramic Fiber Modules – Anchor-Loc®2 ceramic fiber modules extend the performance of standard Anchor-Loc folded modules to a product form featuring laminated fiber blanket construction. This product combines advancements in fiber chemistry manufacturing technology and attachment hardware design to provide an economical lining system for a wide range of heat processing vessels. The Fibermass® manufacturing technique used to fabricate Anchor-Loc2 modules bonds layers of refractory ceramic fiber blanket into a strong pliable fiber block. Spun ceramic fiber blankets which feature high tensile strength for improved resistance to mechanical abuse, vibration, and gas velocity are used in the construction of Anchor-Loc2 Fibermass blocks. A proprietary fiber treatment decreases fiber dusting and irritation while increasing block flexibility, making the module easy to compress into place. Modules are available in two temperature grades based on construction from Durablanket® HP-S or Durablanket 2600. The Weld-Loc®2, Thread Loc®2, and Power-Loc®2 attachment systems are available to meet a wide range of application needs.
Anchor-Loc® 3 Ceramic Fiber Modules – The Anchor-Loc® 3 Insulating Fiber Module is designed to meet a wide range of application requirements in many types of heat processing vessels. Unifrax specifications require inorganic spun fiber blankets for construction of the Anchor-Loc 3 module. The spinning process produces a long, tough fiber that contributes to the strength and stability of the needled blanket. Anchor-Loc 3 modules are manufactured from either ceramic fiber or soluble fiber chemistries to meet customers’ specifications or regional product requirements. The two ceramic fiber blanket chemistries used for Anchor-Loc 3 construction are Durablanket® HPS and Durablanket 2600 with temperature grades of 1316°C (2400°F) and 1427°C (2600°F) respectively. Anchor-Loc 3 modules are also constructed from biosoluble insulating blankets. For applications where operating temperatures may reach 1100°C (2012°F), the Anchor-Loc 3 module is fabricated from Insulfrax® S blanket. For continuous operating temperatures up to 1260°C (2300°F), Isofrax® 1260C soluble fiber blanket is selected for module construction. Anchor-Loc 3 modules are formed by folding a continuous strip of insulating blanket in a serpentine pattern. Next, the folded blanket is compressed and banded to assure close dimensional control of the finished block. A stainless steel base bar is inserted into the back surface of the block. For ease of attachment in the field, an access tube extends from the center of the module surface to the alloy base bar. This access tube is removed after installation is complete. Two stainless steel tubes are inserted through each fold of blanket to attach the insulating fiber to the module base bar.
Insulfrax® Ceramic Fiber Modules – Insulfrax® 1100C Modules are a family of high-temperature module products based on Unifrax’s Anchor-Loc® attachment systems. Modules used in the Anchor-Loc systems are constructed with Insulfrax S Blanket. Each type of Insulfrax 1100C Module can be easily fastened to interior steel shells of all types of heat processing equipment with several differnet attachment systems. Insulfrax S Blanket, which is utilized in Insulfrax 1100C Modules, is based on a calcium, magnesium, silicate chemistry to provide thermal insulation at recommended operating temperatures up to 2012°F (1100°); Insulfrax products also meet European regulatory requirements (Directive 97/69/EC).
Isofrax® Ceramic Fiber Modules – Isofrax® thermal insulation products are based on a patented silica-magnesia chemistry which produces products capable of withstanding continuous operating temperatures up to 1260°C (2300°F). Isofrax products are designed to have enhanced in-vitro solubility characteristics which enable Isofrax products to meet European regulatory requirements for synthetic vitreous fibers.
Fibermass® Ceramic Fiber Blocks – Fibermass® ceramic fiber blocks combine advancements in fiber chemistry and manufacturing technology to provide an economical lining material for a wide range of heat processing equipment.
