Unifrax Ceramic Fiber Papers
Unifrax ceramic fiber papers and felts consist of a group of wet-laid nonwoven materials. The materials are manufactured using Unifrax alumino-silicate fibers wet-laid with a latex binder system to form a randomly oriented matrix. These products are flexible, light weight, and posess excellent thermal characteristics.
Fiberfrax® Ceramic Fiber Papers/Felt – Fiberfrax® ceramic fiber papers are a unique class of products which consists primarily of an alumino-silicate fiber in a non-woven matrix with a latex binder system. A specialized paper-making process to form uniform, lightweight, flexible sheets is statistically controlled. By blending different fibers, binders, and additives while varying the manufacturing process, Unifrax Corporation now produces a variety of Fiberfrax paper products for a wide range of applications. In addition, Unifrax has several manufacturing capabilities which can enhance the performance of Fiberfrax papers in a wide variety of applications.
Insulfrax® Paper – Insulfrax® Paper is an evolutionary product which is manufactured by forming Insulfrax Fiber in a non-woven matrix. These fibers are randomly oriented during manufacturing and then held in place with a latex binder system. A specialized paper-making process is utilized to form uniform lightweight, flexible materials, including Insulfrax Paper. Insulfrax Fiber, utilized in Insulfrax Paper, is based upon a calcium, magnesium, silicate (CMS) chemistry. This CMS fiber chemistry has been successfully used to solve a variety of application problems from 427°C (800°F) up to 1100°C (2012°F). In addition to high temperature resistance, Insulfrax Fiber meets European regulatory requirements (Directive 97/69/EC).
Isofrax® Paper – Isofrax® 1260C Paper is a unique product which is manufactured by forming Isofrax 1260C Fiber in a nonwoven matrix. The fibers are randomly oriented during manufacture, then held in place with a latex binder system. A specialized, statistically controlled paper-making process is utilized to form uniform, lightweight, flexible materials, including Isofrax 1260C Paper.
Saffil® Felt – Saffil® Felt is lightweight, intumescent and dust free. It is supplied as a flexible sheet, which is easily cut to shape. The fibers are held in compression by an acrylic polymer binder which burns out completely at temperatures in excess of about 400°C, and an expansion in its thickness occurs.
